360 DESIGN
Digital Runway, The Second Brain & The Speed Of Social Media

Intro: Second Head

Kit Gordon Second Head music video

Music video for Kit Gordons opening song to upcoming album 'Second Head'. I was tasked to create a contrasting feel of chaos and stillness using digital memories and experiences along with 360 footage and small bits of ML. I conducted an interview with Kit where he said: “This song is the introduction to ‘Second Head’, a body of work that represents transition. The introduction for me depicts the balance of stillness and chaos and the incoming restless states I find myself stuck in when creating”.

The Speed of Social Media
360 filmed video for Installation

Reflecting the speed and ease of connecting across the world via social media.

Part of my 360 technology exploration, I wanted to create a video on one of the benefits of digital technology, particularly focusing on social media.

The revolution of social media allows us to connect with people half way across the world in milliseconds. Therefore, I created a video using the Insta360 camera from the perspective of the sky looking down, giving the illusion that the model is walking across the entire stretch of the Earth, imitating the speed of social media connections.

The Second Brain Theory
360 filmed video for Installation

Accepting the fact that digital technology has become an extended limb of our body.

A video based on the thinking by Mark Rolston who suggested in the theory ‘The Second Brain’ that technology is becoming an extended limb from our body and the need for technology is the same functionality as the need for one of our limbs in this present day.

The smallest tasks such as checking the weather or using directions are now at the tip of our fingertips all the time.

We have an abundance of intelligence at our fingertips with the internet alone.

I used a 360 camera to capture myself walking from the perspective of my foot, channelling the idea that technology is following us wherever we go.

Made with the intentions of being exhibited in a video installation form on a 24 hour loop.
